Digital Energy Futures (DEF), is a landmark research project at Monash University’s Emerging Technologies Research Lab. DEF uses future-focused social science research to better understand how emerging technologies are shaping the way people live – and ultimately, the future energy needs of Australian households. DEF is supported by the Australian Research Council’s Linkage Projects Funding Scheme.
Insights gained from ethnographic research with 72 households in NSW and VIC, informed the ECBS survey questions to gain a better understanding of consumer sentiments, anxieties and aspirations.
